Investigation the effects of salinity stress on seed germination and seedlinggrowth of Sesamum indicum L. cultivars abstract
During an experimental study in factorial and complete experimental random block plan with4 replications, this experiment was carried out. The reaction of four sesame cultivars (Indian12- Co- 21- TKG - 21 and Darab 14) evaluated in relation to 5 salinity level result from NaClincluding zero -3 -6 -9 and -12 Ds/m. The results showed that by increasing the salinity level inplant environment, different germination indexes were affected with higher degree. Thecomparison mean of characters showed that different cultivars of sesame had differentreactions. Regarding the germination factor (6SI) the Indian 12 cultivar was the best and byconsidering this index and final percentage factor of germination and also speed co - 21 wasintroduced and it was more tolerant to salinity statistically. Regarding the results of thisexperiment, it seems that the cultivar evaluation based on toleration in germination, may showthat theirreaction to salinity tension is not happened in other stages of growth
