Abstract:
Wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) is a new achievement in the field of diseases diagnosis which is introduced by Given Imaging. This tool allows physicians to view the inner lining of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. In the recent years, researchers have sought the ability to transfer and inject drug by capsules for diagnosis and treatment of GI tract diseases at the same time. To achieve this purpose capsule endoscopy should be able to identify a target tissue for a drug to be released. Therefore, a high accuracy system is needed to design for identifying the target texture. This article will provide a system for the detection of bleeding using color features and based on the WCE image thresholding. HSV color space is used in this algorithm due to the separation of color information into chromaticity and intensity. To implement and synthesize the given algorithm verilog hardware description language (HDL) and Altera DE3-115 board is used. The experimental results show the proper performance of the proposed bleeding detection system.
