Abstract:
This paper presents modifications in searching new solutions (new food sources) of artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC). Traditional ABC algorithm used extended arithmetic mean to produce new solutions. We propose two methods for producing solutions in different stage of the algorithm. The modifications enable the algorithm to search more efficient. Numerical tests approved the effectiveness of the modified ABC in searching optimum point(s) of seven famous test functions
