Analysis and Investigation of Scour and Deposition and Flow Pattern around the Permeable Simple Groins

One of the indirect technical methods of coastal and river Protection is the utilization of the groins. The groins are structures for cross-section of the river at different modes to the axis and extend over the edge of the rivers. These structures by deflecting flow from embankment and the water flow averting to the river axis are caused to reduce scour. The permeable groins can pass water flow through their bodies also lead to descend the flow velocity rates. These types of the groins have mainly better performance and accelerated deposition in alluvial river with huge amounts of base deposition bar concentration, so in this article the investigations of scour, deposition and the flow pattern as well as the important points in designing the permeable groins have been considered.
