Tests on Differential interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (D_InSAR) Data from ERS Tandem Mission abstract
Interferometric methods applid to SAR images acquired by two separate antennae, can be used for the determlnation of rerrain elevations from space by analysis of phases of the received signals, to an accuracy comparable with accuracies of elevations determined by electro-optical systems. Differental interferometric SAR can determine elevation changes between two epochs to an accuracy of the order of cms. This paper will review the principles of differential SAR interferometry, and give results of test undertaken on data from the European Space Agency (ESA) ERS 1 and 2 satellites.
