OHSAS 18001:2007 Standard - Bringing organizations to new heights of occupational safety and health (OH&S) performance abstract
All organizations, regardless of their size or complexity are faced with the challenge of implementing an occupational safety and health (OH&S)
management system that would prevent injuries and ill health to persons that are working under the control of the organization (contractors, employees). The Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 standard has been successfully adopted by many organizations to manage their (OH&S) hazards and risks.
This article examines the drivers for the revision of the standard, the changes and how they would affect organizations in terms of raising their safety and health performance.
