Kinetics study on the conversion of the microorganisms to biopolymer abstract
Flocculating agents are widely used in wastewater treatment and other industrial processes because of their high efficiency and low cost. However, most synthetic polymer flocculant have been proved to cause health and environmental problems. The use of bioflocculant for
wastewater treatment largely reduces the amount of sludge due to its biodegradable nature. To date more than 60 organisms have been identified that are capable of producing biopolymers.these biopolymers are biodegradable ,safe, and environmental friendly.Bacillus sp .can be extracted from soils and activated sludge through proper screening and isolation The proper utilization of a continuos flow biological unit for a single cell protein producation depends upon through understanding of its Kinetics as well as the effects of the operating parameters on microbial growth and substrate utilization .kinetics studies are related to. Microorganisms must transform environmentally available nutrients to forms that are useful for incorporation into cells and synthesis of cell polymers.
