MWC T nanocomposite: A ovel nanocomposite catalyst for the Synthesis of Xanthenediones under Solvent-free Conditions abstract

Xanthene and their derivatives are an important group of organic compounds owing to their extensive range of biological and pharmacological activities. 1,8-dioxooctahydroxanthenes have been synthesized from 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedione and aromatic aldehydes using nanocomposite as a reusable eco-friendly and novel catalyst under solvent-free conditions. Nanocomposites are materials that combine nanosized particles to matrix of standard material. The result of this addition is a drastic betterment in properties that can include thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, toughness and etc. Therefore, we reported a highly efficient one-pot synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthene derivatives from 5,5-dimethyl-1,3- cyclohexanedione and various aromatic aldehydes. In this method, we used nanocomposite for producing products in excellent yields and short reaction time without using organic solvents. Also, this procedure has some advantages such as using a green and efficient catalyst with high catalytic activity, clean process and easy workup.
