Green Synthesis of Silver anoparticles from Orchis Caspia root Extracted: preparation, characterization and kinetics abstract
The silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized using Orchis Caspia root extracts as reducing and stabilizing agent are reported. On exposing a mixture of silver nitrate solution and aqueous root extract of Orchis Caspia with vigorous stirring within 32 hours heating in 60 °C, stable AgNPs were obtained. The UV-Vis spectrum of AgNPs in aqueous solution shows an absorbance peak around 450 nm due to Surface plasmon resonance. The nanoparticles characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fourier transform infrared (FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). FTIR analysis revealed that the hydroxyl, carboxyl and amine groups from OCRE were responsible for the reduction of silver ions to silver nanoparticles. With XRD spectrum, the nature of AgNPs was shown crystallized with face center cubic lattice and average size 42 nm. The pseudo first order rate constants, Kobs for the formation of AgNPs was calculated and reported.
