DC motor control using Fuzzy PSO and Fuzzy BB-BC controller

This paper presents a comparative study of Fuzzy Logic for controlling a DC motor speed using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Big Bang-Big Crunch (BB-BC) algorithm. Firstly, the Fuzzy Logic controller was optimized with PSO so as to obtain optimal adjustment of the membership functions. Secondly, this controller was optimized by Big Bang-Big Crunch algorithms. simulation results demonstrate that the deigned Fuzzy BB-BC speed controller realize a good dynamic behavior of the DC motor, a perfect speed tracking with no overshoot, give better performance and high robustness than those obtained by Fuzzy PSO. Simulation results demonstrate that fuzzy BB-BC has better performance.
