Abstract:
Introduction: Post-partum depression (PPD) has asignificant effect on child development and behavior.This study was aimed to investigate the impact oflogotherapy on recovery of symptoms of postpartumdepression. Method: For this purpose 30 women withpostpartum depression (15 in logotherapy, 15 in controlgroup) were selected through available sampling andwere randomly assigned to intervention and controlgroups. The intervention group received 7 sessions oflogotherapy and control group did not receive anytreatment. Data was collected by Edinburgh PostnatalDepression Scale (EPDS). Pre-test and post- test wereapplied. To analyze the data, the analysis of covariancewas applied.sig.0/000. Result: The analysis of covariancedemonstrated there is a significant (p <0/005) support ofthe effectiveness of logotherapy on recovery of symptomsof postpartum depression. Conclusion: The findingsshowed that logotherapy has significant effect onrecovery of symptoms of postpartum depression.
