Abstract:
In this study, a hybrid photovoltaic (PV)/battery/diesel DC power system is presented for green boats. A novel multi-input DC/DC converter is proposed to integrate PV panels and battery units into the DC bus. A dual-output nine-switch converter (NSC) is also utilized to drive two electrical motors. The system is able to operate either in grid-connected or stand-alone mode to support a smart grid as a DG. The whole system is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK, and the simulation results verify the validity of the proposed system
