Abstract:

Through international efforts research and development of novel adsorption technologies for treatment of wastewater containing heavy metal ions for reduction of toxicity led to technology-based treatment technology. Many techniques, such as ion exchange, reverse osmosis, precipitation, adsorption and membrane process have been applied on removal of heavy metal ions. The main objective of this study was to assessment this methods for removal heavy metal from waste water. Among them, adsorption is the most promising and frequently used technique due to its low cost, easy application and superior efficiency. Among the methods of adsorption, magnetic nanoparticles are considered potential adsorbents for aqueous heavy metals due to their high surface area and the unique advantage of easy separation under external magnetic fields.
