Abstract:
In this work a series of solvent injection process are conducted on horizontal glass micromodel which is initially saturated with the heavy oil under several fixed flow rate conditions. The oil recovery factor is measured using image analysis of continuously provided pictures. The effects of number of fracture, spacing, orientation, pore structure, solvent injection rate, solvent type and number of fracture on oil recovery factor in 5-spot models are investigated. The results show that when the fracture spacing and solvent injection rate are increased, the oil recovery decreased. Also it has been found that oil recoveries are increased as the fracture orientation angle and solvent viscosity are increased. In addition, optimum
solvent compositions, special combination of three different solvents, are suggested, and were tested on sandstone pattern.
