Abstract:
Despite advantages of balanced scorecard and its quick growth in becoming leading approach in performance management, recently doubts arise about the quality of it. Due to limitations of BSC, this research focuses on the development of a dynamic balanced scorecard (DBSC) for public hospitals in Iran health sector by employing system Dynamics model in the structure of BSC to distinguish the mutual causality between objectives and performance indicators. Results reveal that system dynamics is an appropriate approach for eliminating shortcomings of BSC and empowering its structure.
