Abstract:

previous studies have shown that cells and tissues can be influenced by electromagnetic fields exposure. Electromagnetic fields have physiological effects on cells and tissue such as alteration of gene expression, cell viability, proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle phase. Impact of electromagnetic fields depends on density, frequency range and exposure time.Epithelial-mesenchymal transition is the process by which epithelial cells lose cell-cell junctions and baso-apical polarity and acquire plasticity, mobility, invasive capacity, stem-like characteristics, and resistance to apoptosis. Epithelial mesenchymal transition is one of important biological process in embryonic period, wound healing and metastasis. E-cadherin (CDH1 gene) downexpression has been associated with Metastasis. it is well-known as a tumor suppressor gene.Evaluation of the effects of electromagnetic field on E-cadherin expression.
