Abstract:

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a gram-negative bacteria in Pseudomonadaceae family. It is an opportunistic human pathogen and it often colonized immunocompromised patients, like those with cystic fibrosis, cancer, or AIDS. P.aeruginosa also exhibits intrinsic resistance to a lot of different types of chemotherapeutic agents and antibiotics. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the inhibition effect of mof-5 and the broccoli extract on growth P. aeruginosa (PAO1) Based on CLSI standards And determine the antimicrobial activity bythese materials using disk diffusion and dilution in the micro tube. MOF-5 is the archetype metal–organic framework and has been subjected to numerous studies in the past few years, especially in hydrogen storage. As a soluble fiber, broccoli (Brassica oleracea) contains a large amount of vitamin C and multiple nutrients with potent anticancer properties. However, the effect of broccoli against infection by pathogenic bacteria has never been reported. In this study, we demonstrate the inhibitory effects of broccoli extract (BE) and MOF-5 on standard and clinical strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The results showed that broccoli extract and MOF-5 nanostructure have antibacterial properties against bacteria that by more research can be an alternative to antibiotics.
