Abstract:
Mn3O4 - reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanohybrides have been successfully synthesized via a facile, effective, energy-saving, and scalable microwave technique for potential application as for adsorbent of methylene blue (MB) in water. The surface morphology and structure of the Mn3O4-rGO hybrids were characterized by field emission scanning, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR). Mn3O4 nanohybrides with an average diameter of 25 nm are uniformly adhered to a substrate of graphene sheets. The combination of Mn3O4 nanoparticles with graphene sheets leads to a much higher catalytic activity than that of pure Mn3O4 or rGO. Graphene was found to play an important role in Mn3O4 dispersion. We could do without the presence of hydrogen peroxide or temperature conditions or specific pH absorb and eliminate these concerns
