Background: Maternal fetal attachment (MFA) is a term used to describe the relationship between motherand her fetus .MFA associated with psychological health in pregnancy and beyond, and plays an importantrole in identifying women who need additional support. Objectives: The aim of this study is predict theMFA according to personality traits in pregnant women .Patients and Methods: The statistical societyincluded 171 pregnant women with Gestational age above 24 weeks of pregnancy (Prim parous and MultiparousWomen) which were selected using the Purposive sampling. The Cranley MFA questionnaire and NEOPersonality questionnaire were used during this study. Results: Data were analyzed using Pearson correlationcoefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that extroversion index (B=. /33, P<. /001,R=. /51) had the most significant relationship with MFA and predicted it. Conscientiousness, openness toexperience and neuroticism are the other indicators which predicted MFA, but agreeableness did not predictMFA (B=-./026,R=N.S).
