Abstract:
The pH sensitivity of electrically conducting polyaniline (PANI) and its derivatives poly (o-methyl aniline) (PoMeANI), poly (o-ethyl aniline) (PoEtANI), poly (o-propyl aniline) (PoPrANI) and poly (N-methyl aniline) (PNMeANI and polymer-Ag nano composites have been studied with potentiometric.Polymerization was accomplished by voltammetry method (cyclic voltammetry) in the following conditions (with a fixed concentration of monomer in an aqueous solution of nitric acid). Silver- polymer nanocomposites were prepared by cyclic voltammetry method in the presence of silver nitrate. The properties of polyaniline, its derivatives and its nano composites were determined by cyclic voltammetry (CV), potentiometric method, FTIR spectrometry, UV-vis spectrometry. The results shown that the response of aniline derivatives to pH and their sensitivity to pH has been reduced and by synchronous synthesis of nano silver particles, improved the sensitivity of nano composites.It is a simple, fast and cost-effective and expensive method and it can be used to build sensors, rechargeable cells and fuel cells.
