The impact of parent's education on students' Internet addiction abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of parent's education on students' Internet addiction. Methods: In this research it has used descriptive searching method. The statistical society is consisting of all high school students in Semnan province. Among statistical society, according to determining amount of prototype table, 800 people selected by accidental classified sampling method. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The internet addiction test was used to examine the internet addiction in this article. The internet addiction test has developed by Yong (1998). Statistical methods used in this study included descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation and percent. Finding: Results of the analysis showed that the correlation between Internet use male and female students and their parent's education is Medium straight. Furthermore, there is a significant difference between male and female students' use of internet and also the average amount of using internet is more among boys than girls. Conclusion: There is a significant relevance between students' internet usage and their parents' educational level.
