Protection of Historic Building: From Traditional to Modern Society A Case Study of Achaemenid kings Great Cyrus and Great Darius Tombs in Pasargad and Nagesh-E Rostam, Pars Province. Iran

The main purpose of present article is to identify and describe the origin and development of the modern approach to the conservation and restoration of ancient monuments and historic buildings, the effect of this development has been international collaboration in the protection and conservation of cultural heritage, and the present consequences in over world.Since the eighteenth century, the goal of this protection has been defined as the cultural heritage of humanity; gradually this has included not only ancient monuments and past works of art, but even entire territories for a variety of new values generated in recent decades. The preservation and the presentation of the cultural heritage has been identified as the ‘modern conservation movement’. The main principles and concepts of the movement have found their first expression in the European context, particularly in the eighteenth century, although the roots can be identified earlier, in the Italian Renaissance and even before.Current research has shown that there were many approaches to the repair of ancient temples after damage by fire, earthquake, use, or building activity.
