Optimal Allocation of Different Types of DG Source in Distribution Network System abstract

At the present work the optimal placement of different types of DG in distribution networks is proposed. Favorable DG location and size can be determined by minimizing power loss and improving voltage profile. In this paper, optimal active and reactive powers for DG resources are obtained. A variety of DGs supplying active and reactive powers in different buses in the proposed method is also considered. Ant Lion optimizer (ALO) method is used to solve the DG location and size. The ALO is based on the hunting mechanism of Ant Lions in nature. The random walk of ants, building traps, entrapment of ants in traps, catching preys, and re-building traps are main steps for this algorithm.The proposed approach is tested on 33-bus & 69-bus standard distribution systems
