Equilibrium and kinetics of adsorption of heavy metals onto zygomycetes fungal biomass

In this work lead as a toxic heavy metal removed adsorption fromaqueous solution using filamentous morphology of Mucor rouxii as azygomycetes fungal Biomass. The experimental data were applied to thepseudo first-order, the pseudo-second-order, Elovich, and the intraparticlediffusion kinetics models. Pseudo-second-order modelsuccessfully described the adsorption kinetics. Four different models ofFreundlich, Langmuir, Scachard and Temkin were applied to interpretthe adsorption isotherm. Amongst these, the Langmuir model showedthe best fittings with the experimental data (R2>0.99). The obtainedmaximum adsorption capacity of lead from aqueous solution forbiomass was 22.1 mg/g, from Langmuir model compare toexperimental data.
