Abstract:

In this paper, a mechanism of enhancement land mobile satellite multiple input-multipleoutput (MIMO) channel model was proposed to provide suitable tools for theperformance analysis. For this purpose, unlike former QuaDRiGa model, in addition toline of sight (LOS) interactions and non-line of sight single interaction clusters(NLOS_SICs), a kind of non-line of sight multiple interaction clusters (NLOS_MICs)called non-line of sight twin interaction clusters (NLOS_TICs) will be included in theoptimized model. Hence, more information of delay spread, powers, departure and arrivalangles is involved in the channel coefficient computations. A corresponding MATLABsimulation model is provided and the effect of cluster types on the azimuth and elevation,delay spread and power delay profile is discussed. Finally, experimental results andnumerical analysis (e.g. shadow fading, K factor delay spread) indicate that the proposedchannel model can be served as a more accurate design framework for land mobilesatellite MIMO channel model.
