Abstract:
Teachers didactically cannot be thought to be creative; there is no predefined rule for teachers and educational leader for them to be creative. Some strategies might help to promote creativity in teachers. Teacher autonomy could play a major role in teachers’ being creative. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between teachers’ autonomy and teachers’ creativity. A total of 30 teachers were selected from randomly selected educational institutes in the city of Yazd in Iran. The results indicated that there was a statistically significant relationship between teachers’ autonomy and their creativity. There was also a correlation between teachers’ autonomy and their creativity. Most of the Teachers believed that by being more autonomous they could decide more creatively and appropriately in their classes.
