Abstract:

The electropolymerization of poly (N-methylaniline), PNMeANI and poly (N-methylaniline)/Ag (PNMeANI)/Ag nanocomposite were prepared by insituoxidative polymerization of NMANI monomer in the presence of AgNO3. The formation of polymer and nanocomposite was characterized by Raman, FTIR andUV–vis spectroscopy. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to investigate the electrochemical properties ofPNMeANI and PNMeANI/Ag owing to the aggregation effect. The cyclic voltammetry results show considerably the higher electro activity ofPNMeANI/Ag nanocomposite film in comparison with PNMeANI film. The surface morphology of the coating was determined by scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM) and back scanning electron (BSE). From the SEM image, it is observed that nanoparticles are well dispersed in the PNMeANI matrix. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results show thermal stability ofPNMeANI/Ag nanocomposite. The pH sensitivity of electrically conducting PNMeANI and PNMeANI /Ag have been studied with Potentiometric. The resultsshowed that the response of PNMeANI to pH and their sensitivity to pH has been reduced and by synchronous synthesis of nanosilver particles. On the other hand, (PNMANI/Ag) can be applied in all-solid-state biosensor applications.
