A New Input-Output Pairing Analysis for the Quadruple-Tank Process abstract
Decentralized control is a well established approach to the control of multivariable plants. In this approach, control structure design and in particular input-output pairing is a vital stage in the design procedure. There are several powerful methods to select the appropriate input/output pairs in linear multivariable plants. However, there is no general method to select the appropriate input/output pairs for nonlinear multivariable plants, despite the fact that most practical systems are nonlinear. In this paper, after a brief review of the quadruple-tank process as a novel multivariable process with changeable input-output pairs a new general approach to input-output pairing for nonlinear multivariable plants are proposed. Finally, the input-output pairs of the quadruple tank by the proposed method is proposed.
