A CAD Tool for Design of Linear MOSCAP Structures Using Modified Version of Genetic Programming abstract
In this paper a CAD tool for designing high precision MOSCAPs has been developed. It uses iterations of MATLAB-HSPICE to find the optimum
structure, whose C-V characteristic is similar to a predefined pattern, for a certain amount of chip area. The algorithm which is used in this case is a modified version of genetic programming. The results were tested in a 0.18μ CMOS BSIM V.3 process. The resulting structure shows a 1.7% capacitance variation for a 1pF typical capacitor and a voltage range of 0 to 1 volt. Simulation results affirm the ability of this tool in designing MOSCAPs.
