Psychotherapy - fifteen years of development within Eurasia

Asian Federation for Psychotherapy held its first congress in 2003. Psychotherapy is traditional for European countries and is yet a new phenomenon in Asia. In each country psychotherapy has its own individuality and national identity. In Europe psychotherapy is being developed at the expense of individual methods (modalities). They are autonomous and independent in many respects. In Asia, traditional cultures have a great impact on the methods of psychotherapy that are brought from the West. New unique methods of psychotherapy are being born in Asia, and the integration of different methods of psychotherapy becomes truly important. Further development of psychotherapy will be characterized by the incremental fusion of psychotherapeutic methods and their diverse enrichment
