Abstract:
Design and building of heavy military and passenger vessels, often was done with mechanical propulsion systems that have some systemically disadvantages such as excess weight, high volume mechanical equipment and low controllability. Versus the mechanical propulsion systems, design and implementation of electric propulsion systems for commercial vessels come on to solve a mechanical system disadvantages. The main advantage of electric propulsion systems is high precision controllability speed driver for electrical motor. In this paper, the reasons of design and implementation of electric propulsion systems for vessels was investigated. Also we design the new high power speed driver for marine electrical motors with new vector control method.
