Abstract:
A variety of methods such as flocculation, adsorption, coagulation, flotation and nanofiltrationwere proposed to remove contaminants from wastewater, which have not received muchattention due to the economic and technical reasons. In recent years, the membrane technologyhas been used in various industries due to its simplicity of operation and high efficiency. In thisstudy, the use of MEUF to remove contaminants from wastewater has been studied. This methodcombines the filtration process and surface active substances that have the ability to remove lowmolecular weight substances from wastewater. Research has shown that MEUF andnanofiltration process have the same capacity for removing contaminants from wastewater, butMEUF process requires less energy and lower operating pressure. Also, studies have shown thatthis process can reduce heavy metals up to 99 percent, AOX up to 80 percent, and cansignificantly reduce color. In this paper, the removal of various compounds from wastewater hasbeen addressed.
