A Numerical Investigation of Beach Profile Changes in Southern Coasts of the Caspian Sea

Beach erision in one of the most serious problems in southern coastlines of the Caspian Sea. During late 70's the Caspian Sea level rise reached to its highest levels and caused damages to the coastline. Due to the sever damages to private and public properties, all different types of the shore protection methods were employed in order to define against coastal erosions: retaining walls, groin sestems, offshore breakwaters and mostly irregular protection using blocks of concerete and stones were the usual solutions against the threats of the erosion. However, the dewatering system never examined as an effective protection against coastal erosions partcularly for limited areas such as the coastlines in front of small properties.
