Application of Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) for Nonlinear Heat Conduction Equation in Cylindrical Coordinates abstract
In this paper, heat equation in cylindrical coordinates is solved by using the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) in two cases, uniform and non-uniform heat generation. In addition, thermal conductivity is temperature-dependent which makes nonlinear terms in the heat equation. The comparison of obtained results from HPM solution with exact solution indicated that the maximum and the minimum accuracy of HPM, observe on the surface and in axis of cylinder, respectively. Furthermore, the effect of the various parameters on temperature profile is investigated. It is observed that the HPM results have good agreement with the exact solution.
