Abstract:
In the current investigation, copper-carbon (Cu-C) nanocomposite was synthesized by the use of a two-step chemical method for the application as the nanofluid. The resulted nanostructures were characterized by XRD, Raman and SEM. A laminar flow regime was considered to investigate the performance of the water-based Cu-C nanofluids. The experimental results indicated that the convective heat transfer coefficient of the nanofluids increased up to about 91% at a weight fraction of 0.002 wt. % of Cu-C compared to the result of pure water, however, the amount of h values was almost unchanged with further addition of Cu-C nanocomposite
