Abstract:

Iran is considered one of the most countries vulnerable to earthquake. During the last 25 years, 60000 Iranians have lost their lives to earthquakes. A proper Crisis Management system can reduce the number of victims significantly. The affecting factors are classified into seven categories including planning and organization, human resource management, management of logistics, international humanitarian aids, field performance of the military and security forces, health and medical service provision, and information management. Among these parameters, health and medical service provision is a vital factor which plays an important role in disaster management. In any disaster, overcrowded hospitals struggled to cope with thousands of victims, while temporary hospitals with obsolete systems usually erected 2-3 days after the incident, Can t help to release the crisis. The time consuming process of erecting these structures will increase the number of victims. These hospitals must be located a minimum of 15 days in place of incident, while most of these temporary structures can t resist harsh climatic situations and are not able to provide thermal comfort condition for patients. In this essay we will introduce several portable structures suitable for temporary hospitals, their properties and the important role these buildings play in disaster management according to their special features. A reasonable selection among these alternatives must bring into consideration the various factors such as climate, economy, time and other parameters of the situation portable structures due to their open floor plan and flexibility can quickly be turned into a medical center for doctors and nurses to treat patients, and to house those recovering from injury or illness. Seeing that those in need receive medical treatment is essential during an emergency, and a modular and portable structure can help.K
