Experimental Study of Triaxial Behavior of Concrete under Lateral Confining Stress abstract
Loads on most of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, are triaxial. For the principledanalysis and design of these structures, being aware of the concrete behavior under triaxial stressstates is essential. Also studying the stress-strain curves under triaxial loads for nonlinear analysisand design of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, is important. In this study, for bettercomprehension of the behavior of confined concrete, the uniaxial and triaxial tests were performedon the cylindrical specimens. The relationship between axial stress, lateral confining stress, anduniaxial compressive strength, is calculated and compared to the proposed relationships of otherresearchers.
