Abstract:

This study considers the mechanical behavior as well as plasticizer migration behavior of two samples of PVC plasticized with two different kinds of plasticizers (dioctyl phthalate: DOP and epoxidized soybean oil: ESBO). The results indicate that ESBO plasticized PVC sample shows lower plasticizer migration than DOP plasticized sample. Furthermore ESBO plasticized sample has lower hardness and higher tensile strength compared to DOP plasticized sample
