Abstract:
Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine aim to develop biological substitutes that restore, maintain, or improve damaged tissue and organ functionality. Nanotechnology or the use of nanomaterials may have the answers since only these materials can imitate surface properties of natural tissues. In this study, we examined the effect of carbon nanotubes (CNT) on morphology, pore size and porosity of chitosan scaffolds. Chitosan-CNTs composite 3D scaffolds were successfully manufactured by phase separation method. The morphology of scaffolds was studied by SEM images and software Image J. Results noticed that nano-composite scaffolds is more regular and larger in pore size than pure chitosan. Porosity measurement shows that by increasing CNT up to 2.5 % it causes in increasing pore sizes and decreasing in content
