Abstract:
Plasticized polylactide (PLA) nanocomposites were obtained by melt blending PLA with poly ethylene glycol as plasticizer (15 wt %) with different contents of nano-silica .According to TGA results, the thermal decomposition temperature of the nano composites increased as a function of nano-silica content.The inclusion of nano-silica resulted to higher tensile strength and young modulus and lower elongation at break in PLA/PEG.
