Anti-creasing property of treated cotton fabric with chitosan-cyanuric chloride hybrid

To impart anti-creasing property in cotton fabrics chitosan-cyanuric chloride hybrid (Ch-Cy) has been used. For this respect, cotton was treated by Ch-Cy using pad-dry-cure method. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and weight gain analysis clearly confirmed that Ch-Cy was grafted on cotton through the formation of new chemical bonds. The presence of Ch-Cy on the surface of cotton and increasing the weight gain of cotton cause to better the anti-creasing property of treated fabrics, since the wrinkle recovery angle (WRA) is increased.
