Abstract:

The combined cycle (CC) uses the exhaust heat from the gas turbine engine to increase the power plant output and boost the overall efficiency to more than 50%.The Present Study describes a thermodynamic modelling of gas turbine cycle with G.T turbine blade cooling method. For this report, first, each part of the Gas turbine cycle such as compressor, G.T turbine and combustion chamber is modeled then thermodynamic relation is obtained, then the exergy analysis was performed. At the end of this report the exergy analysis is performed for this gas turbine plant and the effect of changing in the turbine inlet temperature on the exergy efficiency and exergy destruction is evaluated. In addition, these calculations are performed for 50 and 75% G.T base load and results show that the exergy destruction when G.T work in base load is more than full loads. At the end of this paper the optimization of a gas turbine will be performed. Subsequently,different parts of the objective function have been expressed in terms of decision variables. Finally, the optimal values of decision variables were obtained by minimizing the objective function using Multimodal Genetic Algorithm code that is developed in Matlab software programming. At the end of this paper the effects of fuel price on the optimal design parameter will be discussed.
