Abstract:

In this research, the S.Wongwise mechanistic model of liquid holdup in horizontal stratified two-phase flow was improved. This new model is base on the flow geometry and steady-state gas-liquid stratified flow in a horizontal pipe. Unlike, previous model variation of interface friction factor (independent of gas and liquid frictions) with Reynolds number was considered. Interfacial friction factor is computed by Hamersma-Hart correlation for stratified flow. This model was compare by Eaton experimental model for horizontal pipe. The comparison shows that the new model is more accurate than S.Wongwise mechanistic model and the average error is 0.0227%. So, the little change in interface can be computed by considering the Reynolds number in interfacial friction factor correlation.
