Atmosphere, a phenomenological investigation into Naqsh-e-Jahan square abstract

It is clear that contemporary and modern architecture have closed their eyes to basic feelings and mental factors, which concern our relationships with physical natural and man -made environment. In modern architecture building have focused on technical and formal factors but not in mediating factors. In traditional architecture of Iran there was something that affected on human’s senses, it is called atmosphere in today’s architecture. People conscious or unconsciously influenced by the atmosphere of the things around them. But unfortunately the good atmosphere is neglected in contemporary buildings and architecture of Iran, that’s the reason we should learn from our ancient architecture to design building that affected on human’s senses. The aim of this study is to an alyze the principles of the phenomenology in architecture of Naqshe-e-Jahan Square in Isfahan. We interviewed visitors and local people then analyzed information with our observation and previous studies. In the sequel our suggestion is to find the lost qu ality in our architectural buildings by the deep look at our traditional architecture
