Abstract:

In this novel reaserch nickel oxide gadolinium-doped ceria, NiO-GDC, composite nanofibers have been synthesized via the electrospinning method. For this purpose, homogenous (NiO-CeosGd2O2-s) gel was successfully synthesized by the Cation Complexation technique, using Ce,Gd,Ni nitrates and citric acid followed by electrospinning of the mixture of the transparent gel/ polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution to obtain the nanofibers. The resulting nanofibers were then calcinated at 900 °C to form the composite nanofibers. Thestructure and morphology of the nanofibers were elaborated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses. It was also found form the SEM analysis that the obtained fibers have been synthesized in less than 50 nm in diameter. This composite could be further used as the anode material for lowtemperature solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).
