Abstract:

The nanosized SnO, particles were prepared by chemical precipitation method using ammonium hydroxide and tin dichloride.The obtained SnO2 powders were treated by soaking in the oxalate solution with different concentrations for 24h. The as-prepared powders and the samples treated with oxalate were calcined at 700C.The powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The results showed that the untreated SnO, particles in the presence oxalate, the crystal sizes of SnO2 modified by oxalate grew slowly under the same condition. This phenomenon implied that oxalate treatment played an important role in inhibiting the crystal grain growth of SnO2 calcined at high temperature.
