Abstract:
In the present work, the separation of He/CH۴ through different polymeric membranes has been considered. In this regard, composite flat sheet membranes are prepared from different amounts of poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) (۰–۴۰wt%). Gas permeability were studied for the prepared membranes. The results demonstrated that the ABS/PVAc (۰۰wt%) membrane revealed higher permeability. Afterwards, novel mixed matrix membranes were prepared by incorporating ۱–۵ wt% SiO۰ nanoparticles into the ABS/PVAc (۰۰ wt%). The primary results of the prepared mixed matrix membranes showed a significant increase in the He permeability by incorporating the SiO۰ nanoparticles into the blend membranes. Finally, we predicted performance of membrane with Maxwell model and calculated AARE%.
