The effect of foliar spray of yeast extract on the vegetative growth and productivity in tomato

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) is considered as one of the most important horticultural crops and is grown widely in the world. But this important crop suffers from the low yield compared with the vast cultivation areas. Nowadays there is a great demand for using new and organic technics in order to get greater yield and maintain an organic and safe production. In this study we used three concentrations leaf spray of dry yeast extraction on two tomato cultivars (DEL ORO) and (Kael tame) in order to see the effect of yeast on the yield of tomato and its vegetative growth. The results showed that 20 g/L treatment was the best to get the highest yield and fruit number per plant. While all the treatments on (DEL ORO) cultivar gave better growth results compared to control.
