Abstract:
Poly(vinyl alcohol) and ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymers were phosphorylated using H3PO4-ureadimethylformamidesystem. Phosphorylated polymers were characterized by pH titration, 1H and 31P NMRanalyses. The total phosphorus content and the ratio of the differently bound phosphorus were obtained by both31P NMR and pH titration, but the results differed slightly. The results were shown that configurationalsequences of hydroxyl groups have insignificant effect on their reactivity of their and H3PO4 is randomlyreacted with them.
