New method for N-doped graphene manufacturing and its application for ORR abstract

We synthesized reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and N-RGO as metal free electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in alkaline media. RGO synthesized from graphite in ionic liquid and N-doped reduced graphene oxide is prepared in ionic liquid containing nitrogen in presence of N2 gas. The electrochemical activity of N-RGO and RGO in the ORR is investigated by cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) using rotating disk electrode (RDE) measurements on glassy carbon electrode in oxygen saturated alkaline aqueous solutions. In this work we doped nitrogen on graphene to obtain high performance of non- metal ORR electro-catalysts
